Location and Hours of Operation
RCRIC is based within the Department of Radiology on Seattle Children's main campus.
Hours are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Overview
The Radiology Clinical Research Imaging Core (RCRIC) provides Seattle Children's investigators and extramural study teams with support for research data collection, image processing, and image transfer for modalities including:
- Digital and slot-scanning x-ray (XRAY)
- Dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA)
- Ultrasound (diagnostic and elastrography)(US)
- Single- and dual-energy computed tomography (CT)
- 1.5 and 3T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI/MRS/DTI/fMRI/elastography)(MRI)
- Nuclear medicine (PET/CT and SPECT/CT)
- Interventional procedures (IR)
Service Requests
The three main categories of work performed by RCRIC are listed below. Note: Image Copying and Study Setup require a budget number (LAN) prior to submission.
- Research Image Copying – This service has migrated to AMBRA. There is a new request process for intake starting with a service-now ticket here -- https://schprod.service-now.com/it/?id=sc_cat_item&sys_id=6f1417ea1bc4c490af1499f4bd4bcb45
- Study Setup (post-award) - study setup, protocol optimization, workflow oversight
- Radiation Safety Review - for studies where radiation containing modalities are used for research (charged to study budget). Requires current study protocol and consent forms for submission. Note: since Oct 2020, studies using simple x-ray or DEXA scans do NOT need radiation aprpoval.
