Research Lab Services (RLS)

Overview of Services

The Research Lab Services (RLS), operated by Seattle Children's Dept of Laboratories, provides an array of laboratory services to support basic, clinical, and translational research: 

  1. Research testing on clinically validated platforms;
  2. Specimen processing (centrifugation, PBMC isolation, DNA extraction, etc);
  3. Histology services including special staining;
  4. Tissue microarrays;
  5. Protocol collaboration and test development;
  6. Specimen storage and shipping;
  7. Biobanking;
  8. Advanced testing capabilities (molecular, microparticle/microvesicle assays, etc)

Locations and hours of operation

Hours Location

The RLS Lab is staffed Mon-Fri 8am to 6pm.    

After hours access granted in limited circumstances.    

 

The Dept of Laboratories accepts research samples around the clock.

After hours processing requires approval at study implementation.
